Computer Training

One of the most important aspects when using computers is knowing how to do so. Many times, people simply do not have the experience or knowledge to do what they wish to do - it is not a matter of ability, just experience. Due to this lack, we are happy to offer training in most aspects of computer use and maintenance, as well as training on specific programs or activities with your computer. Here is a sample of some of the areas we train in and what we can train you to do:

Basic Computer Use - How to turn on, restart, and turn off the computer; basic maintenance; how to install, uninstall, and run different programs; how to work with files and folders; and basic troubleshooting tips and tricks to help you solve your own problems.

Internet and Email - How to get online with a dialup or high-speed connection; how to navigate to different web pages and find what you are looking for online quickly and effectively; how to reply to and forward emails; how to add attachments to your emails; and what to do if you cannot get online or you can't check your email.

QuickBooks/Quicken - How to use and navigate in QuickBooks and Quicken; troubleshooting common problems in these programs; and how to network QuickBooks and Quicken with multiple computers. NOTE - we cannot answer accounting questions, we can only help you use these programs and solve any errors that occur. For accounting advice, please call your accountant.

Word Processing - How to create and edit documents; how to insert pictures and clip art into documents; how to format a document to appear how you want it to; and how to create documents such as a resume, an official letter, and many other common document types.

Spreadsheets and Database Programs - Basic use of database and spreadsheet programs; how to create and use formulas; conditional formatting to make data appear differently if different conditions are met; how to create graphs and charts from data; how to recall data from another document or form; and how to troubleshoot errors.

Office Productivity Programs - How to use programs such as Microsoft's Project Manager, workgroup collaboration programs such as Exchange, or many other office tools.

Digital Cameras and Camcorders - How to use your digital camera or camcorder; basic photo tips and tricks; the most effective use of your camera; how to transfer pictures from your camera to your computer or printer; how to edit pictures; and how to send pictures via email, put them in a slideshow, or burn them to a CD.

Multimedia Processing - Basic use of common multimedia programs such as Adobe, Jasc, and Macromedia products; how to effectively edit picture, video, or audio files; how to transfer information to your computer; and document publishing either from your own printer or preparation for a professional print shop.

This is just a sample of the training that we offer to you. We offer training both for individuals, groups, and companies. We also feel that it is best for people to learn at their own computers, at their own pace, and by doing it themselves with instruction. We have found that people are much more likely to retain the knowledge earned and become better at using computers if the teaching is done in this manner. If you want to learn something about your computer and do not see it above, please contact us and ask if we can teach it to you; in most cases we can teach you what you need or want to now about your computer or its use. For any questions, or to schedule an appointment so that we can teach you what you want to know, please call us at 405-608-4464 or email us at training@aplusonsiteservice.com.
